Profile

Dr Tracey Fuller is a UKCP registered Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counsellor Affiliated Lecturer and the Co-Lead of the Counselling Programme at the Faculty of Education. Tracey is highly experienced in working therapeutically with children and young people; including working for the NSPCC working with children in care as a school counsellor and in clinic-based private practice. She specialises in working with clients who have survived adverse childhood experiences and abuse. Her research interests include school counselling therapeutic alliances with young people safeguarding and exploring young peoples’ and practitioners’ phronesis. Tracey has contributed chapters to books on school counselling and on working therapeutically with young people in care as well as co-writing modules for the national BACP/IAPT Healthy Young Minds E-Learning programme. Tracey's ESRC funded case study research 'The Trust is the Work' focussed on young people’s alliances with school counsellors during safeguarding information sharing and was presented with the CPCAB/BACP Research Award. Tracey is also an Education Lecturer teaching on the BA in Childhood and Youth at Sussex University. Tracey's first career was as a Key Stage 2 teacher.
