Profile

Alice currently teaches on the Early Primary and Primary PGCE courses at the Faculty of Education teaching maths and professional studies. Additionally she is a personal and partnership tutor which involves supporting trainee teachers whilst on placement. Another role she holds is section II examiner which is the placement aspect of the course. She also supports trainees with their subject knowledge development particularly in maths.

Alice is studying for an MPhil in Primary Education with a focus on curriculum development in maths. Her current research project focuses on teachers attitudes towards maths schemes of work.

Prior to working at the Faculty she was a teacher in several local primary schools. She mainly led the subject of maths within the school but also held other curriculum leadership positions in the subjects of music RE PE and PSHE. She was the lead mentor for the school and mentored several PGCE trainees as well as ECTs.

At the Faculty Alice co-chairs the Faculty Forum which is an all-staff meeting as well sitting on the Research Committee representing Teaching Associates.

Other areas of interest include the environment and sustainability. She led the Green Impact team at the Faculty of Education and the team achieved a gold award for its efforts. Alice also sings with the faculty’s (pop-up) choir.
